The Contract With the Planet

The Contract With the Planet is a project of the Priorities Campaign, headed by Ben & Jerry's co-founder Ben Cohen. Our goal is to bring together the millions of Americans who know that our leaders in Washington must do better than "business as usual" if the United States is to remain strong, free, and secure.

We aren't trying to organize this by ourselves. The Contract With the Planet is supported by a variety of groups who were disappointed that America's government response to 9/11 focused on old policies of more guns, more oil drilling, more aid to big corporations and little else even though we were told "everything had changed."

Instead, the Contract With the Planet is a positive vision for America's role in the world after 9/11 and is supported by a variety of membership organizations who yearn for social uplift and a safer world.

Business Leaders includes 500 corporate executives including the current or former CEOs or chairmen of Goldman Sachs, Eastman Kodak, Phillips Van Heusen, Hasbro, Visa Card and others.

Religious Leaders for Sensible Priorities
Clergy members preach that leaving children poorly educated and without proper medical care, while money is being wasted isn't just bad policy, it is immoral. Religious Leaders includes the heads of denominations representing 30 million Americans - including the Presbyterians, Methodists, National Baptists, American Muslims as well as a host of individual clerics.
